The Joy Of Movement ~ sensing universal Joy
Class today was focused on this triad. I invited the students to choose sensation, make it pleasurable, if it wasn’t what they ultimately wanted for pleasure sensation, they were to tweak it and choose something else until pleasure was in their grasp. Choose, sustain, increase, tweak as necessary…
The routine was R1. I like this routine for a study in Joy of Movement and tapping into Universal Joy because right from the get go, it’s about being part of the ONE. We are all connected. We Are All Connected – the very first song. We are connected to one another, to Universal Joy whether or not we know it. Sometimes practicing that we know it is all you can do, but eventually you believe it and be it. The conscious connection of front to back, site to side, up to down, in to out, reminds me that the whole body is one and to pleasure one part of my body means the whole body is being pleasured. To make pleasure in my body means that I raise the pleasure vibration of my students (and friends and family), my classroom, my city, my country, my world, my universe, which happens to be everyone else’s universe too.
Pearls: Shake it up, come with me, liquid, let’s, your body’s way, feel it, swoon, get tall, open your heart, get to your roots, tribal, first chakra, fall into yourself, connect with your inner lover, be your own best lover, together, we are ready, you are one, we are one, flirt with someone in the room, shine, shine on, jazzy you, party, everybody sense your…, get noisy in your tribal sound, pull your heart open, look, be aware, dance, hand to your heart, sustain, soft, look, sway, wrap, easy, let the eyes be your guide, hug…
After class Sabine said (in her thick French accent), “I had an amazing experience with this class. It was like an out of body experience. I felt so good, I wasn’t sure what I was doing. My dance was guided by something (she gestured up). Wow! Amazing
This focus and intent (this routine) allows me to have the experience of truly stepping in and leaving distractions outside. When I am finished with the class and we actually step out, I feel like I haven’t really seen my students in a while. Like we all went on a journey together, but we were in a different realm.
