This week we are focusing on the combination of principle 1 from White, Blue, and Brown Belts.I combine The Joy of Movement~Sensing Universal Joy, The Joy of Being in Relationship~The power of Two, and The Joy of Movement in the Zone~Expanding Awareness.
As we danced, I suggested that each person tap into sensing Joy in their body as pleasure. If it wasn’t present, tweak as necessary and then when Joy in the form of physical pleasure was found, sustain. Once sustained, try to increase the sensation or expand it in some way. Again, if pleasure was not there, the suggestion was to tweak again and again until the tweaking, increasing, and sustaining were all fluid, simultaneous, etc… This takes practice. More and more I realize that dancing all out crazy will not get me to Joy. It often provides me with pain messages and the initial charge that I get from movement to music is eclipsed by that.
Also, interspersed with the Sensing Universal Joy assignment, I also suggested that students scan their core energy battery and decide if they were at neutral, negative or positive. If the sensation of pleasure was there, could it be that the energy that it takes to dance to the music becomes a positive charge for the battery rather than a draw on it. Not all energy drawing is bad, that is not what I was saying. Rather, I was contending that the sensation of pleasure would have a positive effect on the battery. Pain is an energy draw that has no redeeming qualities. I never feel a good tired from pain. A decent pleasure filled hour of Nia is equivalent to and hour of good sex which is equivalent to an hour of cooking a great meal which is equivalent to an hour of writing a good story… There is energy used up. Everything takes energy. But some things don’t deplete me. A good deep massage that works me out and is sometimes uncomfortable is energizing in the long run. Sitting in traffic while I am hungry, have to pee and the sun is in my eyes, is not ultimately a positive charge.
So we were sensing Universal Joy and tweaking and increasing. We were judging the charge we were getting from the dance. I then suggested that building a loving relationship with our bodies meant paying attention to it. IT; The relationship. Notice how you treat your body and what that does to your relationship with it. Like any other relationship, if you don’t work at putting positive energy into it, the relationship will suffer. All three of you will suffer. You, your body and the relationship that the two of you have.
AND finally, to cap this all off, there was the ask, wait, receive suggestion. Once in the relationship with your body – feeding the positive into it, and sensing Joy, we are ready to ask “Spirit, what do you have for me now. And now? And now? “Ask, wait, listen. What is told to you by Spirit IS what it is. If we asked, even if we didn’t hear the answer, we got it. We were dancing what Spirit had to say. Whether we like it or not, everything IS whatever it is because of Spirit. This is my belief.
Pearls: “Spirit, what do you have for me now. And now? And now? “, Sense, Ask, wait, receive, use the music, tweak, keep dancing, lose the judging voice, observe yourself while you dance, connect to the relationship, Joy, Dance, Spirit, this is the move, add, store, witness, increase, hold it there, wind up, smooth out, rev, deplete, use, circulate, wring, splash, collect, keep…
